How to install an eSIM

A step-by-step guide for iPhone & Android. Get connected in minutes before you even land.

Is your phone eSIM-compatible?

Almost every recent flagship supports eSIM, but it’s worth a quick check. Open your phone settings (SIM manager on Android, or Cellular / Mobile Data on iPhone). If you see an “Add eSIM” option, you’re ready. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked.

Check compatibility

Make sure your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked (see above). This takes 10 seconds.

Install your eSIM

The fastest way is scanning the QR code from your WiiLine order email.

On iPhone

  1. 1Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data)
  2. 2Tap Add eSIM → Use QR Code
  3. 3Scan the QR code from your email

On Android

  1. 1Open Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs
  2. 2Tap Add eSIM / Add a mobile plan
  3. 3Scan the QR code from your email

One-tap install link

Reading your email on the phone you’re installing to? Just tap the “Install on iPhone / Android” button no scanning needed.

Manual install (backup)

If a QR or link won’t work, go to Add eSIM → Enter details manually and paste the activation code (the LPA:1$… string) from your email.

Turn it on

  • Turn on your WiiLine eSIM line in Settings
  • Select it for mobile data
  • Enable data roaming for that line

Do this once your eSIM is then ready to connect.

Land & connect

When you reach your destination, your WiiLine eSIM connects automatically and your plan activates. You’re online.

Can’t install? Try these

  • Make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data while installing.
  • Confirm your phone is eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked.
  • A QR code is one-time use check it hasn’t already been installed.
  • Restart your device and try again.

Can I install an eSIM without Wi-Fi?

No you need an internet connection to download the eSIM profile. Install before you leave home.

How long does it take?

Usually 2–5 minutes from scanning the QR code to being ready.

Can I reinstall my eSIM?

Most eSIMs can only be installed once, so avoid deleting the profile unless you have to.

Do I need to remove my physical SIM?

No. Keep your regular SIM for calls/texts and use the WiiLine eSIM for data.

Can I store more than one eSIM?

Yes most phones store several profiles and let you switch in Settings. Usually one or two can be active at a time.
